The German School

Crown Heights, Brooklyn

The German School, founded in 2014, is the first German International School in New York City providing a K-12 bilingual education. After outgrowing their rental space in Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights neighborhood, The German School bought a vacant lot a few blocks away and began plans for a new 4-story, 37,000 sf school. The school will feature a multipurpose gym and performance center, 22 classrooms including laboratories, library, art studio space, and a turfed soccer field on the roof. Working through the challenges of ground-up construction in an urban landscape, our team completed the installation of steel columns and structural framing of the building on an aggressive 8-week schedule. The completed project will host over 500 students and faculty, and will provide the German School an inspiring foundation to continue their mission to “amplify the unique potential of every child”.
